We administer Shingrix, a non-live vaccine that offers over 90% protection against shingles and its complications. The vaccine is highly recommended for adults aged 50 and older, as well as adults aged 18 and older who are immunocompromised. To achieve maximum, long-lasting immunity, Shingrix is administered as a two-dose course. Your second dose will be scheduled between two and six months after your initial injection. Our team will keep track of your timeline and send you a reminder when your second dose is due.

The cost of the shingles vaccine is €243 per dose, which is fully inclusive of your private clinical consultation, the vaccine itself, and professional administration by our pharmacist. Please note that while the HSE National Immunisation Office recommends the vaccine for older adults, it is currently a privately funded service in Ireland and is not covered under public medical cards or drug schemes. Because we order and manage this specialized vaccine stock directly for each patient, we ensure your specific doses are securely allocated for your visits.

Can I get vaccinated if I have already had shingles?
Yes, you can and should still get vaccinated. Even if you have already experienced shingles, the vaccine helps prevent future flare-ups and reduces the severity of potential recurrences. We generally advise waiting at least 12 months after your last active shingles rash has completely cleared before receiving the vaccine.
What are the common side effects of the vaccine?
Like most immunisations, it is common to experience mild, temporary side effects. These can include muscle aches, tiredness, a mild headache, or soreness, redness, and swelling around the injection site. These symptoms are a normal sign that your body is building protection and typically resolve on their own within one to three days.
